Recent graduate Barato Sanat visited ASA College to speak with his former Career Advisor, Roy Pacheco, about his college experience and current career. Three months after finishing his Criminal Justice major at ASA College, Mr. Sanat is already working for the Monroe Country Sheriff’s Office as Records Assistant. This was the sort of job he aspired to before enrolling at ASA because, as he says, “When I was child my dream was to be an Officer in order to help better our community.” For Mr. Sanat, this position is just the starting point. He has been trusted with a great deal of responsibility and also given an opportunity to gain insider, experiential knowledge about the Criminal Justice field. It is his belief that “a career in Criminal Justice is an opportunity to make a difference not only in your community, but also in your world. No matter what profession you choose in field of Criminal justice, you will directly influence the people around you.” As he builds his career, he is sure that he will continue to benefit from the foundation that he established at ASA College. He would tell future students, “No matter which degree you have get more knowledge, be yourself and, go for your dreams.” In his case, in addition to gaining book knowledge on subjects like American Law, he also developed professional habits like time management, and gained a more open-minded, worldly perspective. Mr. Sanat is very thankful for his experience at ASA College, and we couldn’t be prouder of him.
